Yunzhi also known as Coriolus Versicolor, is a type of cloud-like mushroom with health-promoting qualities. It is mainly found in the Yunnan and Guizhou provinces in China and grows deep in the forest.
Traditional Uses of Yunzhi
Yunzhi was traditionally called "zhi" in ancient times. Its effects have been known for thousands of years and are documented in Chinese medical texts throughout history. The earliest complete Chinese pharmacopoeia reference, Shennong Bencaojing (Classic of Herbal Medicine), published 2000 years ago regarded "zhi" as a godly medicine.
In the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.), Li Shi-Zhen's Bencao Gangmu (Compendium of Materia Medica) described the zhi's effects as invigorating vital energy, and stimulating longevity and rejuvenation after prolonged consumption.
